Day 1

Travel from Marrakech on a breathtaking scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy dramatic views as we drive through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. We will stop to take photos and have lunch of your choice. We will arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the calm city, in the afternoon. This city is a perfect place to purchase Glaoui carpets and other handcrafts of Morocco. The locals are kind and the shopkeepers are honest, offering low prices. Evening walks are part of the culture. It is a great opportunity to take in the views of the Taourirt Kasbah, which is the backdrop to your hotel and a Unesco World Heritage site. You are walking distance to the souk. We will include dinner recommendations.

Day 2

Distance: 373 km/ 6 hours


We will travel through the Dades Valley known as the valley of 1000 Kasbahs. We will follow this ancient caravan route through the valley to Merzouga. Here you will see some of the most picturesque views of Morocco. We will arrive at our beautiful Riad in the late afternoon. We will have lunch and a rest before we begin our camel excursion and magical overnight stay in the Sahara desert. You may bring all your luggage or choose to bring an overnight pack.

Day 3

Distance: 395 km km/ 7 hours

Aït Ben-haddou

We will depart in the morning and pass through Erfoud a town known for its fossil preservation. An optional visit to a local fossil factory can be made. If shopping is of interest we will stop in Rissani and walk through their local souk. We will stop for lunch in the beautiful Draa Valley full of palmeries, farms and fruit trees. Early evening we will arrive at Ait Benhaddou. This live-in Kasbah is one of the most celebrated Unesco World Heritage sites and is still home to 4 families. It was once a major stop along the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara. It is a popular filming location and has been featured in Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky and more. We will be transported in time as we walk to the old Granary for a panoramic view.

Day 4 and 5


We will travel the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and get our last glimpse of the high mountains and its stunning views. The villages and its landscapes are truly a unique experience. There is an option to stop at the Kasbah. We will stop for lunch on the way. You will arrive in Marrakech late afternoon
